Many years from now, you are going watch that video. You will cry and you will laugh but mostly you will know that your life made a difference.
Thanks Eva.

Thanks Eileen! Your comment inspired me to post again today :D A lot of the transparency discussion was definitely a downer to follow from here in the Philippines. I think one of Kiva's (unofficial) mantras though is that no press is bad press, even if the coverage is negative - as long as they stay open and honest with their response. We're supposed to be hearing soon about how all of this "controversy" affected lending activity so I'm excited for that. (My unscientific guess right now from looking at my host MFI's fundraising activity over the last week is that most lenders are sticking with Kiva and things are ok overall... maybe even going strong as we head into the holiday season.)

Hi Eva!!

I had been totally out of the loop regarding Kiva's transparency blunder until last week during an online fundraising webinar. It's sad to see that kind of setback for an organization that's doing so much good.

I hope you are well in the Philippines and I love reading all of your stories - keep them coming!

It's actually quite salty - mouthfuls of oily fatty fried goodness. My co-workers told me that this snack is particularly good with beer :)

I'm actually riding quite a bit of motorcycle... not always with a helmet so I keep my fingers crossed a lot! I need to get better about wearing one on a more regular basis. Thanks auntie -

Dear Eva,

How are you doing? Barangay looks like peanut brittle. Is it sweet? Are you riding motorcycle?
Take care & my prayer with you.
